In a small workshop, making use of all available space is an important approach. I decided to add a surface to the base frame of my table saw to give me additional options for future storage solutions.
I added a frame to the base of my table saw a few years back, and then updated it to give me the option of having it on wheels or stable on the ground. So I can make the most use of the space under the table saw, I added a surface to the frame using some scrap hardboard. I cut this to size and notched out the sections for the feet. I tacked the surface in place using small nails so I can remove or adjust it fairly easily if I need to in future.

It is a temporary surface currently but allows me to store lightweight things like push sticks, jigs I use on the table saw and spare dust collection hoses with the table saw.

I have started some designs to create a frame under the table saw and to fit some drawers to give me additional space to store tools and accessories I need to use the table saw. Once I have a solid plan I will share the results! 🔨

My workshop is going to be a project in itself, it will arrive as four feet and two feet panels to make a 10×6 foot shed and the rest will give me hours of play to make it as I want. I will be finding ways to make good use of every available inch as it comes together.
I’ll be watching your storage solutions with enthusiasm, thanks.
